Very, Very Quick Trip to Oregon

Last week we made a very quick trip back to Oregon to get the rest of our stuff from our house, with hopes that the sale will wrap up by the end of the month. Josh got off work at 6:30 at night, Lizzy and I were at home completely ready to go. Once he got here we hooked up the trailer and jumped in the truck to start our long drive. We were hoping that Lizzy would sleep because it was night time, boy were we mistaken; however she did really well. We got just outside the Tri-Cities which most of you know there isn't much of anything until you hit The Dalles and what does Lizzy say .... 'Mommy I have to go potty'. So the conversation goes something like this.....
Me : I am sorry honey but there isn't any place for us to stop so you will need to hold it and we will stop as soon as we can.
Lizzy: But Mommy we have the trailer.
Me: Yes honey however that isn't our trailer, that is Dago's trailer and there isn't a bathroom in it.
Lizzy: We don't have the trailer anymore?
Me: Yes we still have a trailer behind us, but it doesn't have a bathroom in it.
Lizzy: We lost the trailer???
Me: No Honey we are still pulling a trailer but it isn't our camping trailer and it doesn't have a bathroom.
Lizzy: Oh
Luckily she did manage to make it to the next rest stop which was about 11 at night. There were lots of trucks pulled in sleeping, so I had to explain to her that we need to be quiet because we didn't want to wake any of them. So when Josh came out of the restroom Lizzy told him that he needed to whisper so that he didn't wake any of the sleeping truckers.
Shortly after we hit the road again she fell asleep and slept until we got to the Albany rest stop. We pulled into Josh's parents just after 3 and gave them one of the biggest shocks because they were not expecting me. They knew Josh and Lizzy were coming but thought I had to stay home to work. :) It was a great surprise.
We were so excited to be there and be out of the truck with some sleep in sight. Josh's grandpa had shown up so we had volunteered to sleep out in the trailer. Josh, Lizzy and I had just crawled into bed when Kelly had texted me to tell me that they had left the back door unlocked for us in case we need to come in to use the restroom, which being pregnant was a for sure thing. But what I hadn't planned on was getting all snugly warm and having a conversation with Lizzy that went something like this......
Lizzy: Mommy
Me: Lizzy it is 4 in the morning, it is time to go to sleep.
Lizzy: Mommy
Me: Lizzy please go to sleep
Lizzy: Mommy, I have to go potty
Oh man, so Lizzy and I get up, put our shoes on and open the trailer door only to discover the rain is coming down sideways. But we bundle up and head inside. We then get back into the trailer and get all comfy once again only to feel like we had just fallen asleep when Lizzy decided she was wide awake at 7:30 and wanted to get up. Well at least we got a few hours of sleep. =) We all got up and went inside and Kelly made us yummy french toast for breakfast. After we got ready Lizzy and I went up to the hospital to surprise my mom as she didn't know I was coming either. Lizzy and I walked into the room she was working in and she just sat there staring at us. She said in her mind she was telling herself that she knew me but it just wasn't registering because she was expecting Josh to bring Lizzy in.
After a short visit with my mom we headed over to our old house to clean out all our remaining items. When we walked into the house, it didn't feel like home anymore, which brought a lot of peace to both Josh and I.
Once we got back to Josh's parents he pulled out the bikes and rode around for a little bit, tried to get Lizzy on one but she wasn't having any of that.

Grandma and Lizzy got to do a puzzle together. Lizzy got to show Grandma her skills. After my mom got off work the 3 of us went back up to the hospital to visit with her, Papa, Maddie and Kaleb for a little bit. Unfortunately we didn't get any pictures with them but it was so good to visit with them. After that we headed back to Josh's parents for a dinner of creamy mac n cheese at Josh's request. Josh's grandparents, sister and her family were all there. Once again nobody knew I was down so it was a shock when I walked in.... I believe Josh's grandma called me a weasel before she gave me a great big hug. =)

We had a great visit with everyone, and Lizzy got to play with her 3 cousins or as she calls them 'her boys'.

Josh and Lizzy of course had to get in some wrestling time. Somewhere during this time Lizzy was able to bruise Josh's rib.... I just told him that if he was going to play with the big kids he had to expect to get hurt occasionally. He didn't seem to think that was as funny as I did.

Grandma and Grandpa with all their grand kids (Until December that is).

Lizzy knocking on daddy's head as we were all saying goodbye to everyone before they went home for the night. Once again he didn't seem to think it was as funny as we all did.

And Lizzy cuddled up on the couch watching TV before bed..... oh so cute.
The next morning we got up, said our goodbyes and hit the road.... like I said it was a very quick trip, but a good one.
